As Executive Secretary of IEAG, he champions the rights of importers and exporters, advocating for fair policies and streamlined trade processes that empower Ghana’s business community.


Early Life & Personal Journey

  • Birth & Family: Born on April 24, 1979 in Kusanaba, Bawku West District, Upper East Region; son of Mr. Asaki Ayariga and Madam Ayapoka Anagi.
  • Humble Beginnings: Raised in Ashaiman and Tema, he supported his family through house help, security duties, and manual labor before pursuing higher education.
  • Values: Known for his “can-do” spirit, goodwill, and tireless work ethic—traits that have guided him from makeshift wooden shelters to national prominence.

Role at IEAG

As Executive Secretary, Samson:

  1. Leads Advocacy Efforts – Engages with ministries, the Ghana Revenue Authority, and regulatory bodies to push for trade-friendly reforms.
  2. Drives Capacity Building – Organizes workshops on customs procedures, e-customs (UNIPASS), and global trade regulations.
  3. Fosters Collaborations – Partners with the Ghana Shippers Authority, GIPC, and international trade organizations to enhance market access.

His leadership has steered IEAG through critical policy dialogues on integrated customs management (ICUMS) and tariff reforms, positioning Ghana for competitive global trade participation.


Political Engagement

An astute political voice, Samson:

  • Parliamentary Candidate (2008) – Contested Ashaiman on the PNC ticket; top-performing PNC candidate in Greater Accra.
  • PNC Flagbearer Aspirant – Secured runner-up position in internal primaries; continues to serve on key party committees and advocates for socio-economic policies.

His candid, fact-driven analyses on national issues have earned him respect as a thought leader in Ghana’s political discourse.
